200 Degrees Coffee Shop Nottingham

(I'm aware this photo makes the barista look as though he's been sent from the heavens... having said that, the food was pretty glorious!)

Yesterday I took the afternoon off from uni work to have a bite to eat in the city centre with some blogging friends from uni. We ended up in 200 Degrees: a gorgeous coffee shop that I've walked past plenty of times and always thought was a pub. Major fail on my part, I know. BUT now that I've finally been inside it's safe to say that it will fast become my favourite place to visit. It is vegetarian and vegan friendly which is always handy if you have friends with those requirements and has a very relaxed, hipster-esque vibe without being pretentious (sorry, hipsters, but it had to be said).

"Housed in a beautiful 17th Century coaching Inn, it’s a little corner of peace and quiet just off the hustle and bustle of Nottingham city centre."

I'm definitely not the best when it comes to taking blog photos, so I just took a quick snap of my food for Instagram and then a really quick photo of the amazing food display as we left... that will have to do! My photography (or, lack of it) really doesn't do 200 Degrees justice: the cafe feels unique, cosy and comfortable and the food was just delicious. I had a toasted croissant filled with goats cheese, spinach and something else, followed by the salted caramel bubble bar, which is basically chocolate, salted caramel and malteser-type "bubbles" layered into a few bites of yumminess. I'm not a coffee drinker, but the coffees certainly looked very Instagrammable and the other girls seemed to really enjoy them! Katie is a bit of a coffee connoisseur and she went back for a second coffee and the vegan brownie, which I had a bite of and can vouch for the gooeyness, chocolatey-ness and all-round deliciousness of it!

If you're looking for a new coffee shop to try in Nottingham, I'd highly recommend 200 Degrees. It seems like the place that will often be on the busy side, but it is definitely worth it for the great food, drinks and atmosphere! Let me know your recommendations for coffee shops and cafes in and around Nottingham - I really want to get out of my if-in-doubt-go-to-Costa situation.
