Boots | July Haul

I did some damage in Boots, but the fact that it can be turned into a blog post lessens the guilt... Boots is my happy place and I've hit the jackpot with the Nottingham Victoria Centre store being a short bus ride away! None of these were spontaneous purchases (list lovers holla at me!) - some are first-time buys while a few are repurchases. Without further ado let's get into what I've been buying! (All products have been linked, just click on the name!)

Bourjois Paris Bronzing Primer, £9.99 - Having tried the Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel before my holiday, added it to my wishlist and then been unable to find it in Duty Free I decided to opt for the Bourjois ‘dupe’ before shelling out £32. The price per gram/ml is probably the same as the Chanel but I felt less guilty about spending £10 on a product that I'm not 100% sure if I will love and use enough than I do £32.

L’Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Primer, £9.99  - I don't tend to repurchase makeup items straight away as I like to try new things but as soon as I could see that my current Lumi Magique primer was running out I knew I had to repurchase it. I love how it makes my skin look and feel both on its own and under foundation. I would definitely like to try other illuminating primers in the future but I love this one so much that that I had to repurchase it…maybe next time I’ll try something new!

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, £5.99 - Another repurchase! I love this concealer, it is a fabulous consistency and doesn't crease too much on me (although everything under my eye creases, tips welcome!). The infuriating part is that I have bought the wrong shade. I have been using shade 15 and on the stand store there was 10, 20 and 30 (light, medium, dark) so obviously I opted for 10 thinking that it would be as light as, if not lighter than, my beloved 15. But it is darker. I will still be able to use it as a concealer for the rest of my face but I love the light and bright under-eye situation so I will have to hunt number 15 down.

Natural Collection Loose Powder, £1.99 - This may be a totally wasted £1.99 but I want to try baking. If you watch ‘beauty gurus’ on YouTube you will have probably heard about ‘baking’ or ‘cooking’ your makeup (particularly under the eyes or to define contoured cheeks) and I wanted to give it a go! A loose powder is needed and I couldn't find one from any low-end brand apart from Natural Collection so I thought I might as well try it out! If it doesn't work for ‘baking’ at least I can use it to set my makeup.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick By Kate Nude Collection, £5.49 - Ohmylife the new Nude collection lipsticks by Kate Moss for Rimmel are beautiful…and were pretty much all sold out. I swatched a couple of the testers and chose shade 43 and I love it. Pretty sure I've now found my perfect nude lipstick, thank you Rimmel!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Liner, £3.99 - Brye Ashley is to thank for this purchase. I've been using a white eyeliner for a pop in my inner corner but it really does look too harsh for my liking when worn in the waterline. Brye talked about this liner in one of her videos and it made me remember that I've been meaning to pick one up for a long time and seeing as Rimmel was on offer I thought it was the perfect opportunity to grab it.

Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara, £4.99 - I discovered this product when I did my friend Molly’s makeup (post all about that over on her blog!) and thought I'd pick it up as Maybelline had an offer on: buy one get a second product half price. I've been using a clear mascara to attempt to set my brows in place but thought it was time to admit that a proper brow gel was needed!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, £5.99 - I'm hoping that this will be the only time I need to repurchase this sponge – my last one was getting a bit worse for wear but I promise to look after this one better! Using a sponge with my foundation and concealer has honestly revolutionised by makeup routine (see my 'Fixing Dry Winter Skin | Makeup' blog post!). If you’re struggling with your makeup looking cakey or patchy on dry skin then you need a sponge in your life. This is really easy to get hold of and very affordable compared to the Beauty Blender and I think it works brilliantly.

Have you tried any of the products I picked up? What would be your must-haves from Boots?
