I've gathered these makeup items over a few shopping trips both online and in store and thought I'd share them with you as I'm really pleased with what I've bought! I love makeup and wanted to treat myself to a few new bits after finishing my exams...any excuse, right?!

Real Techniques Setting Brush – This brush is part of Real Techniques’ limited edition sculpting set that I was going to get but I missed Superdrug’s sale price so when I saw this brush sold separately on Look Fantastic I picked it up as it was the brush I was most keen to try anyway. I will be doing a comparison post for this brush and the contour brush from the Core Collection as I thought they might be quite similar but they aren’t so I’m glad I picked this up!

Kiko Smart Lip Pencils (107 and 102) – I’ve never tried Kiko products before so when I saw the new store had opened in Nottingham I had to pop in and pick something up. It was manic when I went in so I just grabbed a couple of lip liners rather than swatching loads of lipsticks and other products but I will definitely be going back. I’m impressed with these so far and really want to try more from Kiko, I’ll let you know when I do!

Barry M gelly polish Cotton – I bought this specifically to wear to a wedding but I was after a white polish for a while anyway as I love how white manicures look. As with all the Barry M gelly polishes I can’t say it compares to a salon gel/shellac manicure but the colour is fab and opaque after a couple of coats and Josh said he really liked this colour on my nails which says a lot!

Barry M gelly polish Papaya - Superdrug had an offer on while I was shopping, spend £6 on Barry M and get a free gelly polish so I chose this one as the colour really caught my eye. I’m all about corals over the summer months, be it on my nails or lips or cheeks, so hopefully this will look as pretty on the nails as it does in the bottle!

Barry M lipliner – I only really picked this up to make my Barry M spend over £6 (logic) but you can never have enough lip liners…right?! I thought I’d try it out to see how it compares to pricier options as I’ve never tried Barry M lipliners before.

Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer Keep Flying for You – The shade I had my eye on was out of stock so I picked this colour up instead (as I said, coral is my go-to for summer!) as I’ve been really keen to try lip lacquers from any brand after the hype in the blogosphere and youtube. I’ll let you know how I get on with it!

Makeup Revolution highlighter Peach Lights – I’ve read a lot of good things about makeup revolution highlighters, particularly the palettes but I am trying to keep my makeup stash down a bit (she says while writing a makeup haul?!) so I opted for one of the single highlighters. My go-to, favourite powder highlighter is Becca’s (moonstone or opal?) which is more silver/cool-toned so I thought I’d try a golden highlighter for the summer months

Urban Decay Naked Basics palette – I own a lot of eyeshadow, I love it! However recently I realised I didn’t have any good-quality neutral matte eyeshadows and I was really missing them every time I did my makeup. I don’t know if I’m alone here, but once I’ve tried great quality products I find that some of the cheaper brands just don’t compare (with certain products that is, not all!) so I wanted to invest in a good quality palette. I love my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette and knew that either the naked basics original or the naked basics 2 palette would be just what I was after. After reading lots of comparison posts I decided upon the naked basics original and picked it up last week. I actually got £5 off which was a bonus as I had been planning on buying it in duty free (saving around £4) but I used Debenhams ‘click and collect’ service and got a £5 voucher to spend in store for doing so!

Have you picked up any new beauty bits recently?

    1. I'm so glad I bought the UD Naked Basics - so useful every day especially as the other Naked palettes don't offer the best range of Matte Shades!
