YSL is a brand that I would love to feature more frequently in my makeup collection, if it weren't for the hefty price tag. However over the past few months my YouTube addiction has led to more high-end brands sneaking their way into my makeup drawer. YSL is no exception and has become a part of my life in the shape of their Rouge Pur Couture lipstick, shade 10 Beige Tribute. The YouTuber to thank for this is Samantha from Batalash Beauty (stunning, talented MUA, badass attitude and all-round fabulous) who wears this lipstick a heck of a lot and so I had to have it.
Beige Tribute is a great everyday colour that is really wearable. For me, if I’m going to spend £26 on a lipstick then it has to be a colour that I am likely to wear to death rather than a bolder colour that I am unlikely to reach for very often. The consistency of this lipstick is creamy and feels very moisturising at first, however I have found that my lips can feel a little dry a few hours after applying this if I haven’t touched it up or added some gloss or balm. I’d say the lipstick lasts for a couple of hours on the lips before it needs touching up, although a lip liner can be used underneath to help with longevity.
YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks retail at £26.00. I bought mine from Boots using a giftcard I had been given for Christmas which meant I only had to pay £15 and, as I had been planning on buying a MAC lip stick or liner instead, the price felt a lot more purse-friendly. Beige Tribute has, however, become a permanent addition to my makeup bag and I would definitely consider repurchasing it once it runs out, which shouldn’t be for a while as it is a nicely pigmented product. It also helps that the packaging is stunning, right?
